This is a short excerpt of a lengthy interview conducted in London, October 25, 2003 with Horst Faas the legendary Associated Press photographer, who died in Munich May 10, 2012. Horst was a mentor and friend to many photographers over his lengthy career. He was a dedicated and meticulous journalist, who always took great care to make sure his facts were right and his pictures strong. During a career which spanned some five decades, he won two Pulitzer Prizes and edited the pictures that won many more. Those of us who were lucky enough to be his friend feel his absence greatly. In this short video he sums up his philosophy on being a photographer covering the war.
